Job purpose

We are looking for a Temporary Adult Social Worker for our Learning Disabilities Team based in Sovereign House.

As an Adult Social Worker, you will provide a social work and case management service to adult service users with social care needs including mental health issues, substance misuse issues, physical, sensory, age-related and learning disabilities and their carers To empower and promote service users to achieve a positive outcome (within current legislation) utilising a personal/individual budget where appropriate.

You will

Assess the needs of and risks to adult service users with social care needs.

Manage a specialist caseload in accordance with departmental and divisional priorities, policies and procedures.

Develop and build on partnership working arrangements and advocate the social work role.

Represent Leicester City Council's Adult Social care services within any multi-agency working fora and to ensure that a social work and anti-oppressive perspective informs decisions and practices regarding people served by these teams.

Be pro-active in implementing the City Council's Equal Opportunity Policies and Practices.

Requirements of the post

Social Work BA or MA, CQSW, CSS, Dip.

Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Experience of completing clear complex assessments to compile plans and to monitor and review these plans in accordance with our guidance.

Experience of working with adults with at least one of the following; mental health issues, substance misuse issues, physical, sensory, age-related and learning disabilities amongst adults and their carers, in a paid or voluntary capacity or as part of qualification.

Experience of working within the care management process.

This is a one year fixed term opportunity.

This is a career graded post £27,905 - £37,849 per annum, dependent of experience.
