Your role

Leicester Adult Skills and Learning Service (LASALS) offer a large and diverse programme of further education qualification courses as well as extensive community based provision. We have a diverse, enthusiastic student community, taught and supported by well qualified, dedicated staff.

Digital Skills are vital in today’s technological world both in teaching and in the wider area of employment. Our provision in this area is expanding and we need qualified tutors with the passion and motivation to help us move forward and provide the best learning experience possible for our Adult Learners across the city.

Web Design, Animation, Games Development, Film, Creative Media, Google Apps and Social Media Development are just some of the areas of our new provision and we are looking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced individuals who can excel in these. Experience of relevant software packages (e.g. - Dreamweaver, WordPress, Shotcut, Blender, Z Brush) is required as is the ability to contribute to the development of our provision.

You will ensure that teaching reflects current good practice and that assessment procedures are accessible to the learner and sufficient to meet the demands of quality assurance and learning outcomes. Whilst ensuring that learners receive a positive experience and achieve their full potential in their learning journey.

What you will need

In addition to excellent communication, interpersonal and administrative skills, you will have the appropriate qualifications, which include: an adult teaching qualification at level 4 with experience of teaching adults aged 16 years and above, subject specific and qualifications at an appropriate level, English at level 2, Maths and IT qualifications at level 2 or a commitment to work towards within 12 months.

You will have commitment and enthusiasm for delivering quality learning experiences to people living and working in Leicester City, as well as the ability to identify individual learning needs, design and plan lessons accordingly.

An enhanced DBS check will be carried out if successful.

Additional information

You must be prepared to work in a variety of settings across the city.

The hourly rate is £23.78 - £26.76 per hour, depending on experience. You will be required all year round – 52 weeks per year.

The hours of work are 2-10 per week.
