Leicester Adult Skills and Learning Service (LASALS) offer a large and diverse programme of further education qualification courses as well as extensive community based provision. We have a diverse, enthusiastic student community, taught and supported by well qualified, dedicated staff.
We have developed a range of short, highly focused, Employability courses as part of our overall Employability Programme and are looking for someone to deliver on these, helping our learners not only move into employment, but to equip them with the skills to progress once there.
Ideally you will hold a qualification in Business or Management, but, more importantly you will have the experience of working at a management level in industry or commerce, demonstrating that you have the understanding of the skills and qualities employers are looking for in their workforce.
The person appointed will be an enthusiastic, skilled, and highly motivated professional helping us to provide a quality learning experience to our Adult Learners across the City.
You will ensure that teaching reflects current good practice and that assessment procedures are accessible to the learner and sufficient to meet the demands of quality assurance and learning outcomes. Whilst ensuring that learners receive a positive experience and achieve their full potential in their learning journey.
In addition to excellent communication, interpersonal and administrative skills, you will have the appropriate qualifications, which include: an adult teaching qualification at level 4 with experience of teaching adults aged 16 years and above, subject specific and qualifications at an appropriate level, English at level 2, Maths and IT qualifications at level 2 or a commitment to work towards within 12 months.
You will have commitment and enthusiasm for delivering quality learning experiences to people living and working in Leicester City, as well as the ability to identify individual learning needs, design and plan lessons accordingly.
An enhanced DBS check will be carried out if successful.
You must be prepared to work in a variety of settings across the city.
The hourly rate is £23.78 - £26.76 per hour, depending on experience. You will be required all year round – 52 weeks per year.
The hours of work are 2-10 per week.
