Job purpose

We are looking for a dedicated Adult Tutor, to prepare and deliver an educational course to Adult Learners, ensuring that learning is properly structured, carefully monitored, recorded and evaluated.

You will be required to deliver

Teaching that is thoroughly prepared and responsive to the needs, expectations and motivation of a broad range of adult learners.

Teaching that is informed by current initiatives impacting on Adult Learning.

Teaching that promotes inclusion, equality and anti-oppressive practices.

Monitoring learning as an ongoing process to ensure that outcomes and success rates are achieved.

A quality experience for the learner and conform to inspection criteria and the Service quality assurance framework.

Requirements of the post

Recent experience of teaching in a post-19 environment.

Experience of devising and delivering programmes of learning from initial assessment to successful outcomes for learners.

Experience of teaching diverse groups, including tasks which stretch and challenge all learners.

Excellent, up to date subject knowledge.

Awareness of the requirements of the new Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.

Awareness of safeguarding, British values and Prevent, with a commitment to delivering these areas in your teaching practice.

Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.

A confident approach to the use of ILT in the classroom.

Additional information

You must be prepared to work in a variety of settings across the city.

An enhanced DBS check will be carried out if successful.

The hours of work are 7 per week.

The hourly rate is £23.78 - £26.76, depending on experience. You will work during term time only – 34 weeks per year.
