Your role

We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and motivated Apprentice to train as a Contracts Supervisor!


Here at Highways Maintenance Service we are responsible for maintaining and repairing over 500 miles of road and 800 miles of footpaths within Leicester City. We undertake construction and maintenance of highway, traffic and transport infrastructure projects, including major public realm schemes to improve the pedestrian and transport network within the City Centre. We also provide winter service and gully cleaning services in the city.


As part of your role you will be assisting with supervision as well as project management activities in connection with works preparation and throughout the construction process.


As an Apprentice Contract Supervisor, you will also learn to support existing staff in the effective and efficient management of internal and external resources, in accordance with the Divisions Quality Policy

What you need

You will need to have an excellent interpersonal skills to be able to deal with difficult customers as well as proven computer skills with the experience of using, updating and developing spreadsheets as well as using e-mail and other MS Office applications. You will also need to have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s and have literacy and numeracy skills in order to undertake a related apprenticeship which will take 2 years through the course of your employment. The role requires that you will be able travel within anywhere in the city and further afield with a view to work occasionally outside of normal office hours. You must have a clear full driving licence.
