Your role

As a Brokerage Officer you are responsible for sourcing Health and Social Care services for individuals, ensuring that these services are person centred, strength based and offer value for money.

You will source and purchase support provision that meets service user needs/outcomes that offer the best value for money, whilst building strong and mutually beneficial relationships with care providers and stakeholders.

You will develop and maintain a single source of information of support provision across Leicester and surrounding areas, whilst negotiating with stakeholders, with emphasis on ensuring best value for money when placing service users in residential/nursing care home and providing intelligence to the council’s Strategic Commissioning and Contracts and Assurance function on the quality of care provision across Leicester.

What you will need

You will have strong facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills with third parties, including providers and social care staff and have knowledge of Care Act and other Health and Social Care legislation and guidance.

You will have experience of working in Adult Social Care within local government and/or health, of managing relationships with internal customers, external partners and stakeholders and have practical knowledge of a wide variety of computer applications including Microsoft Office.

This is a fixed term opportunity until 31st March 2020. It is to be worked on a part time basis - 18.5 hours per week. The exact working pattern can be discussed at interview.
