Job purpose

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to deliver road safety education in schools, colleges, and other groups as appropriate.

You will

Maintain records of lesson planning, training delivered, to contribute to the planning and delivery of the team objectives

Maintain budgetary control of funds allocated to procure and supply training and promotional materials and deals with correspondence and enquiries, following sectional procedures.

Liase with the Leicestershire Constabulary, the County Council and neighbouring boroughs on cross boundary and regional issues and to share best practise. Represents Councils interests at meetings as required

Deliver road safety education to target groups:
Provides a programme of cycle training according to national standards and sectional guidelines
Provides promotional campaigns on motor vehicle safety, including coordinating work with the Safety Camera Scheme Communications officer
Provides a programme of child pedestrian safety training, awareness and initiatives according to sectional guidelines
Plans coordinates and delivers a programme for pre-driver training, with input into MORR and SAGE

Requirements of post

Ability to produce a good standard of written communication.

Must be able interpret instructions and communicate effectively.

Experience and knowledge of one of the above road safety education principles and practices.

Ability to deliver child pedestrian training / deliver cycle training to National Standards/driver awareness education.

Ability to work alongside professional teachers and within the school curriculum as appropriate.
