Job purpose

We have a full time temporary position available until November 2019. (Please note that a previously advertised permanent position is no longer available.)

We also have three part time opportunities available, which can be applied for via the separate advert.

As a Child Development Worker you will provide a range of quality integrated early learning services, through case work and group work interventions, across a locality area, to secure demonstrable improvement in children’s outcomes, for children in families that are considered vulnerable to poor outcomes.

You will

Work with children and parents/carers in group work sessions following a prescribed and accredited group intervention.

Plan and evaluate sessions, assess and track children’s level of development and progress made.

Input data using the services Information Management systems.

Case work with vulnerable families and children:-

Planning and preparing visits

Direct work with child(ren), parents, and young people, in family, group and 1 to 1 sessions.

Record each visit using the services Information Management Systems, ensuring the voice of the child/family is heard.

Work to standard guidance and procedures

Respond to Safeguarding concerns, as per policies and procedures

Represent early help work with families and young people within core groups, case conferences, TAF meetings.

General tasks:-

Contribute to Cluster and Service targets

Collect evidence of outcomes using the systems and tools identified and provided by the service.

Facilitate advice and signpost via our universal walk in and telephone support service.

Requirements of the post include

Significant practical experience of delivering group-based care to young children 0-8 and whole family work with young children and their parents/carers.

Experience of planning and delivering learning programmes as part of the early years curriculum that extend children’s learning and development.

Experience of providing advice and guidance to parents regarding children’s health and learning.

Experience of providing services to families and children who experience disadvantage and/or discrimination.

Experience of using, updating, developing spreadsheet, e-mail, presentations, web, database applications.

Minimum of NVQ3 in childcare or equivalent relevant qualification.

Subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

The salary for this post is £24,799 - £26,999 per annum.
