About the job

We are looking for a cleaner to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the public and office areas within our Evington Leisure Sports Centre.

You will be responsible for carrying out cleaning duties (including washing, sweeping, vacuuming, emptying bins, polishing and dusting) of designated areas including toilets, shower and changing rooms and associated facilities, using basic tools and equipment.

You will

- Remove and clean any unpleasant substances using appropriate materials.

- Ensure basic security of the building and reporting building faults to the supervisor.

- Operate mechanical cleaning equipment as appropriate.

- Clean, wash, sweep, vacuum, empty litter bins, polish and dust designated areas and surfaces, fixtures and fittings, internally and externally, including toilets and associated facilities, shower and changing areas, using basic tools and equipment.

Requirements of the post

Experience in the correct and safe use of cleaning materials, chemicals and cleaning equipment

Awareness of Health & Safety issues. Ability to understand and follow regulations

Must be prepared and able to undertake relevant Health & Safety training, e.g. COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health)

Able to lift and carry equipment in order to complete cleaning tasks

Additional information

Salary: £8,447 - £8,616 per annum

Part Time, Fixed Term Post until 31/12/2019 - 18 hours per week

You must be willing to work early mornings (6.00am - 9.00am), weekends and bank holidays on a rota system, according to the needs of the service.
