Job purpose


To provide an efficient, effective face to face and telephony provision on a range of services delivered from the Customer Services Centre and corporate contact centre.

You will


Handle enquiries from a range of services supported through the customer services centre.

Provide a high quality, face to face and telephony Customer Service provision, enabling members of the public to access accurate advice and assistance with service requests, enquiries and complaints on all of Leicester City Council services.

Act as ambassadors for Leicester City Council by promoting a positive image of the Council and customer services, through the delivery of excellent face to face and telephony provision.

Efficiently and effectively operate a range of IT equipment and programmes to communicate in a timely manner to relevant sections and organisations.

Respond to electronic enquiries via media blending and carry out administration of self-service scanning items from the digital hubs.

Requirements of the post


Substantial experience of dealing with members of the public in a busy, sometimes volatile environment

Experience of providing a face to face and/or telephony service in a busy and pressurised customer contact centre environment

Experience of working in a pressurised frontline service

Experience of using and managing a range of IT systems

Ability to demonstrate an excellent understanding of, and commitment towards, the principles of customer care

A good working knowledge of the services that the council delivers
