Your role

We are looking for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join our Compliance and Monitoring Team in our Planning Service.

You will be responsible for investigating and resolving alleged breaches of planning control. Which will involve preparing reports and recommendations, serving formal Notices, prosecuting offenders in Court and arranging direct action where appropriate.

What you will need

You will have experience in development management, or in an investigative role with relevant investigative skills, along with experience of investigating work in some branch of law enforcement and you should be able to demonstrate some knowledge of the operation of the planning system, particularly relating to enforcement.

As you will need to investigate allegations effectively and deal effectively with complex and difficult situations, you will require sensitivity when dealing with members of the public, excellent negotiation skills and a keen sense of diplomacy and tact.
