Your role

We are currently recruiting a full time Enterprise Coordinator to work with the Careers Hub Manager and the existing team of Enterprise Coordinators to further develop the LLEP Enterprise Adviser Network.

This vacancy is open to Leicester City Council staff as a secondment opportunity to the LLEP, until 31st August 2020, subject to line managers approval.  External applications are also welcome.

As an Enterprise Coordinator you will engage senior leaders in approximately 20-25 schools and colleges and match them with local strategic leaders from business and industry.

You will support them to develop careers and enterprise plans to increase the number of meaningful employer encounters and workplace experiences that young people engage in.

The Enterprise Coordinator will support each participating school and college to use the progress towards meeting the Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance by 2020.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become an important part of a national movement working to raise the profile of the network and embedding good practice across Leicester and Leicestershire.

The Enterprise Coordinator will with local schools (and colleges) on a 1:1 basis to:

- Help schools and colleges to improve their careers and enterprise activities and to engage with the world of work.

- Make it easier for employers and the self-employed to engage with schools and colleges.

- Focus efforts on programmes and activities that are most effective in motivating young people, supporting independent choice, and supporting positive outcomes for young people.

- Continuously track and review impact of the programme to ensure project success.

What you will need

You will need to have in-depth knowledge of successful employer engagement techniques, with experience of coordinating effective projects or programmes.

You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of employers of different sizes and of the local labour market, skills shortages and opportunities for growth. Along with experience of working in, or supporting schools and experience of successful employer engagement strategies or projects.

You must be willing & able to work regularly outside normal office hours for meetings, conferences, open evenings, exhibitions, etc.
