About the job

Enterprise Zones (EZs) are a fantastic opportunity for businesses. They provide significant advantages to help them grow and gain a competitive edge. There are 48 EZs in total across England, driving job creation and business growth in key UK sectors such as life sciences, automotive, and advanced manufacturing.

Leicester and Leicestershire is fortunate to boast two Enterprise Zones (EZ), MIRA Technology Park and the Loughborough and Leicester Science and Innovation Enterprise Zone, covering nearly 290 hectares of development land across four individual locations. Both EZs focus on our local strengths in research, development, and innovation and offer financial incentives and simplified planning – but each site also has a distinct offer to businesses.

Your role

In this role you will support the Enterprise Zone Programme Coordinator in the appraisal and contracting arrangements of project investments into the EZs, the monitoring of projects that have been invested in to see that they are delivering to the agreed profile, and compilation of management reports for the LLEP Board and other public sector partners. You will also provide secretariat support to each of the steering groups for the EZ sites to support the EZ delivery partnership.

You will need

You will be required to have previous relevant experience, as well as experience in communicating management, statistical, technical and progress information in reports. You must have the ability to monitor budgets, spreadsheets and present complex numerical data.

In this role you will liaise with Local Authorities, the wider public sector as well as some private organisations, you must therefore have high level of both verbal and written communication skills. Part of this role would also be to work alongside our marketing and communications team on EZ promotion and success stories, therefore, you must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively network with a range of stakeholders.

You will monitor all investments via specially designed software and be responsible for preparing progress reports, and for that reason you will be required to have excellent IT skills.
