Job purpose

We are looking for committed and passionate people who are experienced and enjoy working with families, some with complex issues, supporting them to meet their needs. You will be part of a wider Family Support Service based in the Early Help and Prevention Service who operate city wide.

You will be part of a motivated team, working with other agencies as part of a multi-agency approach, to ensure families receive the support and resources required to achieve their full potential. You will provide evidence based integrated preventative family support services for referred children, young people and their families across the city using an Early Help Assessment to achieve improved outcomes.

You will

Assess the needs and use evidence-based interventions for a caseload of troubled families, monitoring & recording the impact and results of these.                                            

Provide group-based parenting programmes that are evidence-based and nationally accredited and that have a measurable impact on improved outcomes for children.

Directly support the development of positive attachments/relationships between the parent, children and young people that have a measurable impact on emotional resilience, well-being and mental health.

Requirements of the post include

Significant practical experience of providing support to families in a group or home-based environment.

Experience of providing support to families experiencing disadvantage/ discrimination.

Experience of working with disabled children or children who have additional needs.

Minimum of NVQ3 level qualification in relevant childcare/learning/social care field.

Subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Additional information

Salary: £24,799 - £26,999 for full time roles, £12,399 - £13,499 per annum for 18.5 hour per week roles

Posts are available at various location across Leicester City, which include:

4 x full time, 12 month fixed term

1 x part time -18.5 hours per week, permanent and,

1 x part time - 18.5 hours per week, temporary until approximately November 2019
