Job purpose

We are looking for a number of customer focused, Gas Service and Heating Engineers, who will carry out repairs and Annual gas safety inspections within Leicester City Council properties and other buildings. This includes domestic landlord gas safety checks, responsive repairs & heating system repairs all to the agreed quality and performance standards.

You will

With practical knowledge of building industry regulations, the Gas Safety Regulations and health and safety, undertake domestic landlord gas safety checks and full servicing and repairs.

With your excellent IT skills, in an accurate and timely manner you will complete all paperwork including gas documentation such as Landlord's Safety Records, Warning Notices and RIDDOR reports.
Follow, implement and promote the council's policies and procedures relating to all areas of employment and service delivery

You will need

Being team orientated you will be flexible to participate in the Emergency out of hours service Roster, this is typically 1 in every 5 weeks covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays. With your extensive knowledge in a Gas and Heating trade you will trace, diagnose and rectify faults whilst identifying and specifying material & equipment requirements. You need to hold a valid, Full UK Driving Licence to visit people in their homes and other locations in the city.

Along with the above you will need valid ACS qualifications (CCN1, CEN1, HTR1, CKR1, CPA1) and be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade or equivalent industry experience
