We are seeking a dedicated housekeeper to join our children’s services team supporting various children’s homes across the city. Maintaining the hygiene and health and safety of our residential settings and complying with Ofsted regulations, you will become a vital member of the team. The service has 5 homes, and all are situated within the City limits and are easily accessible via public transport.
Working alongside vulnerable young people you will proactively implement the council’s environmental policies, support the young people to develop their independence skills and will have a real impact on their day to day living.
Working with a great team of core staff you will work full time on a rota system offering a consistent face for the young people in our care. Each home has their own needs and therefore will determine their own working pattern / rota to meet these needs. We offer a 24-hour service, 365 days per year to our young people, which can include working evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Working in the residential homes to ensure a clean and safe environment for both the looked after children and others in the setting. Having experience with housekeeping you will complete various tasks such as cleaning surfaces, vacuuming, emptying waste bins, basic sewing repairs etc. You will also manage the laundry by sorting, washing, ironing and distributing the linen.
Having knowledge of health and safety regulations you will be able to use and maintain cleaning equipment including vacuums. With experience of cleanliness and hygiene, the service and looking for a consistent team member who is flexible and willing to get stuck in. There are no formal qualifications that are required for this post however you will require a DBS check to be carried out, if successful.
