About the role

Leicester and Leicestershire is one of the best connected and most vibrant areas in the UK. You will test your skills and abilities to the maximum, as you shape and lead delivery of our place marketing plan. Working with councils, universities, business leaders and other key stakeholders, you will promote all that is special about Leicester and Leicestershire, the exciting changes and major transformational investment taking place.

Developing shared messages of place and innovative mechanisms to amplify our voice, you will lead a small highly skilled team who will drive forward projects that communicate our fabulous offer – to get more people to want to visit, businesses to expand or relocate and for people to enjoy.

Your role

As our Place Marketing Manager, you will lead and co-ordinate the development and positioning of a strong and recognisable place brand for Leicester and Leicestershire, working with key stakeholders such universities, LLEP (Leicester and Leicestershire Partnership), BID (Business Improvement District), and Leicestershire County Council. Through positive, high quality and consistent communications using a variety of channels including social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter), websites and print media, you will support place marketing for the city across the UK and beyond.

What you will need

With substantial experience in branding, marketing and PR, you will have specialist knowledge of marketing techniques used in place marketing. Having proficient ICT skills including web and social media tools, you will be able to deliver successful campaigns using a wide range of approaches. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure you develop strong working relationships with multiple external stakeholders and senior managers.
