Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the authority deliver sufficient pupil places across the city. You will work closely to ensure pupil place projections are correct, monitored and reflect the changing dynamics of the population. You’ll participate on the Local Authority’s input into City-Wide strategic plans, ensuring that the infrastructure of educational provision is properly considered and will help shape strategic plans for the city. This will involve ensuring that the Schools Organisational Strategy to deliver school places is reviewed and agreed with stakeholders in accordance with regulations and statutory requirements. You’ll contribute to the strategic priorities of Education and Children’s Services, to ensure that children are safe and have a good school. You’ll guarantee the Local authority meets its statutory duty to provide sufficient school places. You’ll liaise with Planning Officers to negotiate for Community Levy and section 106 agreements to ensure there are sufficient educational provision in areas of new residential developments. This will involve submitting basic need or similar bids to Government
As a confident School Organisational Manager, you will understand the complexity of pupil planning and to succeed you’ll have good negotiation skills and the ability to influence people at all levels. You’ll have experience of strategic planning, policy development and monitoring, preferably within a Local Authority. You’ll need to have knowledge and understanding of relevant issues and Education Policy. Relevant experience is also a must.
