The Resourcing Team are at the heart of the Leicester City Council, working across all services with a committed approach to attracting the best quality of candidates and providing effective solutions for hiring managers.

Using the latest technology, you’ll have the opportunity to work across our city offices and remotely. You’ll be a part of a great small team which consists of Resourcing and Onboarding specialists and supported by an ambitious manager, who has big ideas for making the councils resourcing team award winners and the best in local government.

You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects such as workforce planning and entry to employment and you will be our specialist in developing innovate resourcing solutions for roles that are notoriously hard to fill.

Your role

As a confident Resourcing Consultant, you’ll lead and develop our entry to employment programme of work including supporting apprentices, graduates and others whilst working closely with external organisations. This will involve supporting the design and delivery of multiple organisation-wide programmes and projects such as career pathways and entry to employment whilst building relationships and recruitment pipelines with schools, colleges and universities.

You’ll be responsible for giving resourcing advice and connecting this to ongoing strategies, programmes of work and department objectives. In collaboration with key stakeholders, you will develop, create and enhance our employee value proposition. The work you do will ultimately add value across the organisation, continuously reducing the need to rely on agency staff and consultants.

What you’ll need

You’ll be an organised individual with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet objectives and deadlines. You’ll need the character to demonstrate creative thinking in the development of resourcing strategies to engage senior managers and use evidence to support your recommendations. You’ll also have experience of using social media platforms to attract candidates.
