The reports often have to be completed within short timescales to meet court and fostering panel deadlines. In some circumstances the post-holder may also be required to complete Special Guardianship Order reports for the court, and to provide supervision and support to foster carers in line with regulatory requirements and National Minimum Standards.
Please note that applicants must have achieved Level 3 Social Worker status.
You will need significant experience and skills in direct work with looked after children, young people and their carers. Along with knowledge of the impact of trauma and poor early childhood attachment, and experience of supporting others to meet a child’s consequent developmental, social and emotional needs.
You will need knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and of social work methodologies and their application in practice.
