Job purpose

Transport Development Officers are multi-function roles that support the running of the cities transport network.

This role will have specific responsibility for running the 2 large city bus stations operations. There will be a requirement to be involved with other aspects of the public transport team’s work from time to time.

These facilities are high profile and are relied upon by many thousands of people a day. Our ideal candidate will be a proven problem solver who understands the requirements of leading a team, managing a building and dealing with public service vehicles.

You will

Efficiently deliver new schemes and programmes of work designed to further the Council’s transport objectives.

Assist in the development of future programmes of work, designed to further the Council’s transport objectives.

Promote the Council’s equal opportunities policies and practices, and to assist in the promotion of a working environment free from harassment and discrimination.

Help prioritise services to those most in need, as identified in the Council’s transport policy statements.

Promote the concept of sustainable development by ensuring that the Council’s environment protection policies are implemented and practised within the department.

Requirements of post

Experience of managing / supervising a team.

Knowledge of bus operations.

Substantial relevant experience.

Ability to work cross functionally and to work effectively with partners.

Educated to degree level in a relevant field or significant equivalent work experience in a relevant field.

The salary for this post is £34,788 - £37,849 per annum.
