We're looking for Youth Advocates on a temporary basis until March 2020.
This is an excellent opportunity to help prevent young people aged 10-17 from offending and re-offending. Join us and you'll be involved in tackling issues that can lead to youth crime and will provide a supporting role to turn children and young people, families lives around . You'll get the chance to work for Leicester's Children and Young People’s Justice Service which brings together various support for children and young people, whilst working with their families and victims.
You'll be working directly with children by providing a supporting role for them and their families. This will involve implementing effective intervention services to reduce their offending behaviour, harm and safety and well-being concerns. You'll assist in the Youth Offending Service group work programme and encourage participation and engagement by children and their families. You'll be involved with helping children achieve positive outcomes by developing their strengths and aspirations.
You'll need to have experience of working with children and families who may present as complex and high-risk, with the ability to recognise and respond to their diverse needs with appropriate activities. You'll have experience of working with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies, local community organisations and volunteers, which has included direct work with children. You'll also have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team including a wider multi-agency team. Knowledge of various forms of diversity and ways to adapt these approached accordingly is also a must.
