Meet Ben

Trainee Accountant

I thoroughly enjoy working here and wouldn't want to work anywhere else. At the moment, I’m studying for the CIPFA qualification and I’ve been able to experience different placements in the finance department as part of my learning and development. It’s this level of development and support that keeps me here.

Meet Catherine

Income Collection Manager

I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to pursue a career whilst having a family. My son attended the council’s Workplace Nursery for many years. When he started school, the Flexible Working scheme allowed me to take him to school before coming to work and later, my Manager agreed for me to work on a term time only basis.

Meet Fiona

Revenues and Benefits Manager

I really enjoy working at the council and have a very good relationship with colleagues at all different levels. I enjoy the daily challenge of my role, because I can help make changes. It’s a challenging and rewarding job, when you’re helping to stop someone from becoming homeless. And it’s a good feeling to know you’ve helped a family.

Meet Kajal

Corporate Payments Team Leader

I joined the council as a clerical assistant in 1999. Now, I manage and support a team providing payments to domiciliary care suppliers, residential care providers and service users. It’s fast paced, with strict deadlines, but I get job satisfaction from knowing that our payments help people with their daily care needs and enable them to live a better life.

Meet Sarah

Why do I enjoy working here? It’s definitely a combination of the people, the environment and the variety of the work. I certainly never get bored. I love my team and, even though we’re often dealing with difficult or complicated situations, we assist each other and get great satisfaction out of really helping a customer.
