The council’s Young Employees Network gives young employees across the authority a variety of opportunities to help them develop their careers. Combining social events and professional support, we aim to help young employees to make the most of their potential by taking advantage of all the opportunities the council offers.

What kind of events does the YEN organise?

We organise a full range of networking events that give council employees the chance to meet up and learn about what’s going on across the council.

As well as providing the opportunity to network with people in different council departments, we also organise speakers from different backgrounds – both inside and outside the council. This gives you the chance to learn about the latest thinking and developments in a wide range of sectors.

How can the YEN help me develop my skills?

Because the Young Employees Network has representatives in just about every area of the council, we know what’s happening across the authority. So, when it comes to your professional development, we work to make sure that, as a young employee, you have access to the information, support and knowledge you need to advance your career.

How will the YEN support me in my career?

Through YEN Young Employees Network, you’ll have access to a wide range of people who can offer you personal and professional support. As a recognised organisation that promotes the interests of young employees in Leicester City Council, we can make sure that you have all the support you need to make the most of your career at the council.

And, if you want to get involved in supporting local communities across Leicester, we can help with that, too. We actively involve young employees in voluntary work that gives them the chance to help improve lives across Leicester.
